Sinister 7 Ultra Medal
Sinister 7 Ultra Trail Marathon 50 Miler Medal with removable magnetic finishers commemorative coin embedded into design.
The medal was inspired by the Sinister 7 logo of the prominent Black Ravens prevalent in that area. The pre-existing commemorative coin from previous years was requested to be incorporated into the medal’s design. Using the coin to symbolise the sun forming rays of light and colour into the sky above, the Raven flying high, looking down in awe or “maybe laughing” at the runners below.
Sinister 7 Ultra Medals
Background & Creative Direction:
The Sinister 7 Trail Ultra Marathon Race is open to solo runners or teams of up to seven, and racers have 30 hours to complete the gruelling event. The course is split into seven stages, each featuring the area’s geographic and historical highlights. The race’s name is inspired by the treacherous Seven Sisters Mountain that looms over much of the course.
The 100-mile and 50-mile courses will take athletes through the most rugged, remote and beautiful terrain in Alberta’s stunning Rocky Mountains. With over 6,600m of elevation gain across the 100-mile course, this race will punish those who need more preparation.
