What’s in a name anyway?

baby name bible

So throw out that old tradition of naming your child after the great grandfather (George) or Religious Saint (Paul), or hey, even after the place you conceived the child (Vegas). Just bang up a Facebook page and competition, and Bob’s your Uncle (or Twitter is).

Jenn and Joe Marsh struggling to come up with a name for child Number 5, decided to put it out there to Facebook friends. “Within 20 minutes, I had 40 or 50 replies,” Jenn said. “Then, within a day and a half, I had 500.” The online contest attracted nationwide attention from their local newspaper, television, and radio stations. Their story spread around the world. Ultimately, they received 1,000 suggestions from Canada, the U.S., England, New Zealand, Yugoslavia, Norway, and Indonesia — from school kids to seniors.
So, Scout (yes, you have read this correctly) Megan Marie Marsh was born April 19 in a hospital in Chatham, near the family’s farm in Thamesville, Ont., weighing 9 lb., 13 oz.

Best wishes to baby Scout and her family ( I am sure we will get to watch some excellent baby content soon)

All I can add to this somewhat disturbing story is that it will be an interesting role-call first day at Kindergarten.
